Need advice on restoring a Farmall Super A

Gentlemen: First of all, Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless! A Farmall Super A All-Fuel followed me home recently. Unfortunately it has been converted to straight gasoline, with an after-market (Vinson?) manifold, carburetor (cannot find any numbers or letters on it), with the gasoline with sediment bowl coming from the big tank, which should be the distillate tank. I want to restore this tractor but cannot decide if it should go back to original with the distillate. Any ideas or comments? Of course, it needs the usual things, like oil leaks fixed, new battery box, seat, and such. How difficult will it be to find the correct manifold, etc. Any ideas where to look for the necessary parts? The radiator looks like it may have been replaced as well; the only thing left of the shutters apperas to be the lever by the operator's seat.
It has a mounted 5 foot sickle mower with the rod divider 'board'. Any idea about the model nubmer? Where can one find a book for the mower? I at least need to find the shield for the drive unit in the back. My memory recalls that the cutter bar was black and some of the divider board was blue. There were also some white parts on it, including the wooden pitman arm. Sound right? Where can one find the correct paint scheme?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Another question: Should this more appropriately be posted on the IH board? Thanks in advance for any and all help. As this becomes my winter project, I will surely be needing answers to more of my stupid questions.

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
