Our Co-op here in N.E. Iowa has 1.56/gal right now, but they have minimum delivery of 200 gal. They will waive the minimum for smaller tanks they own and rent to the customer, provided they only go once or twice a year. Also, if you don't want to be on a "keep full" basis (you keep track of your tank level) and you run out, they have to pressure test your system for leaks ($25). If you call for same day delivery, add $50. If you let if run out on a weekend, add $150 (includes the above fees). The company wants all their customers to switch to a keep full basis- that way they can stop and fill your tank when they are in the area, saving them time and miles, and if you run out, no fees. I talked to the driver and he said they had to do this, or they would be constantly be running out 50gals when the price changes. I can see his point. Also, the regulations say the company is liable if you develop a leak and they fill your tank resulting in an explosion or asphixiation. If you are paying minimum fees like the above, talk to them. You will probably save yourself some cash in the future, as any other company will have their own rules as well. Also, check your delivery ticket to see if the driver wrote the correct amount of gallons on the ticket. The meter stamps the gallons. Make sure they are the same. old bones
