Last year lime went to $46 per ton spread. I call around each year to see what it's going for. I stopped buying lime in 04 when it hit $26 per ton spread. I have a wood burning power plant close by and can get all the wood ash dumped for $0 . Had to buy a spreader but the first year the ash more than paid for the spreader. Wood ash here has 3-6% potash in it and normally spread 6 tons of ash to the acre. Takes care of PH and keeps K level on the + side.
