You have what is called hook chain, it is still being made but unfortunatly 16 inch wide chain might be hard to find. You will need to know what pitch you need (distance between rods), chain pitch is measured in metric sizes with the most common size being 50mm, there is also 45 and 42 pitch chain available also. Next you need to know how many rods you need for the chain to go around the digger. You also need to replace your drive sprockets that fit the chain, used sprockets on new chain will destroy your chain in no time. Used chain is usually worn out and will break all to often for you, new chain while it will last a long time is not going to be cheap, expect to see a bill somewhere in the area of $1000 . Most of the chain being used these days is called belted chain which has a narrow rubber belt on each side of the chain that the rods are riveted to but that comes in widths of from 24 inches up to 84 inches wide. There are two chain manufacturers that I know of, Superior Chain here in Idaho, and Noffsinger Mfg in Colorado. If you are looking for used chain your best bet there would be to scour the internet for used potato equipment dealers and scrap yards that may by chance have some of what you need laying around.

But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked
