Rates here in Downeast Maine run more in the $25-$35 range. I gave up doing it commercially, because there are too many folks doing it, and I couldn't make enough to cover my expenses for fuel, transport and liability insurance. Considering how far a 'hog will throw a rock, I wouldn't even DREAM of mowing without insurance. One softball sized rock through a windshield, window, or, God Forbid, a kid, and you're well and truly screwed.
