You would need to remove No1 sparkplug near the radiator and bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Once you're at tdc both valves should be closed & your timing marks should be aligned. Pull the cap and see where the rotor is pointing. That's your No1 plug's firing position. You should have the cap off when bringing No1 piston to tdc so you tell which direction the rotor turns. Your firing order is 1-3-4-2 and they need to go on the cap in this firing order whether it rotates CW or CCW. If you didn't have the distributor or mag off the engine it should start. Hal
