If you got my old farm dog excited he would go over the grill instead of the tailgate. He'd look around confused then go on over the cab. He didn't like riding on anything without some sort of sides or cab. Forget about an open tractor or the 3 wheeler, but he loved the backhoe and pickup beds. The night before grandpa's funeral I was given the night off from milking cows, so I loaded Chuck into the front of the pickup (that was a real treat for him) and went to McDonald's. He loved their fries, and I got a large order for him, but he wouldn't eat them while I was in the truck.
Buddy can't get in the back himself so he has to ride in front. Had my cousin's dog for a few weeks after she moved away, and that was a good dog. Roll the window about half way down and she stuck her nose out and stayed there. The Jack Russel would get sick so he sat where the air outlet blew on him. It was funny watching him sniff the fresh air coming in.
