we have a 2000 that has been in our shop for 6 months and no one had figured out what was wrong with the power steering. I have been saying the control valve was bypassing inside some how. had 2 other people look at it 1 a hyd. shop the other a Ford tractor specialist.well today I talked the boss into letting me look into it (I have never opened one up) I took it apart and cleaned all parts buffed all parts to ease operation.when I took it apart I found that 1 ball was missing out of the check valve it takes 2 when we got it back together you can steer it with 1 finger (I and my boss was pleased with the fact that I was able to fix it. It is one of his we plan on selling. Now to get that crazy popping and sudden idle change fixed it will run fine then kinda act like it is dying then pop a few times and speed up
