Very curious on how that holds. Could be a good fix. The Fender Twin sure is a nice amp. Back when I was working for a few years on guitar(I"m bass by trade, but go where the dough is) loved everything about my twin except the weight at the end of the night. Yanked half the power tubes and used the low setting - they tend to be a very very loud amp. Good friend runs the old Music Man 130 - very nice amp as well. A little drier than the twin but also tighter. Depending on the type of music you may like one of the newer 30 to 50 watt class A amps. Supposedly very responsive and real portable. Same friend was a/b ing a small Mesa Boogie combo with the Music Man. Like apples and oranges. The boogie had great versatility and plenty of power but could never duplicate the Music Man tone These days I stick to the bass - not that the equipment is any lighter...
