I'm only giving credit where credit is due. They all made a brave stand up to the very end. The Alamo fell on March 6th. Sam Houston was supposedly at the constitutional convention on March 2nd. He had virtually no army at the time. The men at the Alamo were expecting reinforcements from Fannin at Goliad, but he was unable or unwilling to send his force to aid the Alamo. By the time that they found out that no help was forthcoming, they were completely surrounded. I seriously doubt that they intentionally got themselves cutoff and trapped.
