they are rated at around 95 hp pto. from what i've heard and read, the engines are very expensive to rebuild, but if done right, they are generally good for 10,000 hours or more. 20,000 isn't unheard of.
the 806 uses the hydraulic TA same unit as 706 all the way up to 1586. they are very tough, but after 40 some odd years, they are up for replacement.
there are 2 weaknesses specific to the 06 series. 1 is the shift linkage for the range transmission, which does not tolerate wear, eventually preventing shifting. there are 2 remedies: either convert to the 56-66 series linkage, which is more forgiving ($$$), or replace/rebuild the worn parts to fix the slop (also $$$). the other weakness is the RH seat support. the unloading valve is retained by a snap ring (very hard) in the cast support (soft). eventually the snap ring grove can break apart from the beating it takes. again, the 56-66 series corrected this problem by retaining the unloading valve with a threaded plug. that is also a very expensive part to replace.
just keep in mind the tractor is about 45 years old.
