first make sure it really is a 8n, [ 4speed tranny small bolt pattern wheels, there is lots of 9 and 2 ns out there for sale[ 3 speed tranny large bolt pattern wheels,] as 8n's because the owner "has been told" its a 8n, also to some people any ford tractor made before the 70's is a 8n, they aint, next with that out of the way look on the side of the engine behind the oil filter and find a flat area about 4 inches long by 1/4 high, the serial number is weakly hand stamped there , dont be suprised to find a 8n engine in a 9n tractor or vise versa the engins will all innerchange when you have the number look to the left here under seiral numbers and see what you have
