I am CONVINCED that I got a virus (unknown win32trojan, etc)......twice........from Photobucket; the 1st time, I wasn't sure that's where it came from; did a system restore (Windows XP, IE7) and I was back running. About a week later, when I was uploading pics again, it totally took over the computer; same virus as 1st time and another "misdirected search" virus. I've been paying McAfee since I first went on-line; didn't catch it; neither it or any of the free virus cleaners/protectors would touch it; couldn't even turn the computer off.......had to kill the current. Booted it in safe mode several times and was able to copy my pictures and important files to CDs/flash drives. Malawarebytes or spybot (or another one) 'corralled' thousands and thousands of 'bad' sites, but the virus wouldn't let me delete them. Finally reformatted the thing and reinstalled XP; still wasn't right; after fooling with it for weeks, finally bought a new computer running Windows 7; I liked XP better. Doing a search, I've found that lots of people have had problems with Photobucket, but nothing recently. All I was doing was uploading photos; I'm afraid to log back on.........
