I suspected a sunk float by the way it was acting. I set it by specs the first time and it still flooded. I dropped the level, but apparently too far.
This generator has always been a bit of a problem child. I drug it out this year to test start it. First the recoil spring broke. When I got it to fire, difficult as always, it broke free from its mounts ripped the wires/fuel lines loose and went rolling across the driveway, while running. Fixed the motor mounts, and while it was on the bench I spun it over. It was sucking in the muffler and blowing out the carb. Lapped/ground the valves, replaced the muffler. Tried to start, but noticed the carb was loose. The bolt holes were stripped so I clearanced and installed longer bolts with nuts. After everyhting else was fixed and the engine was running I noticed the overflowing fuel bowl...
The rusty tank stilll needs to be sealed, but I will run it off gas cans til I get that done.
I wonder if I could not run it on gas cans permanent-like...
