135 Fan said: (quoted from post at 01:10:15 01/27/11) People price things based on what they think not what you think they should be priced at. When it comes to certain things not everyone is on a limited budget. You just explained why you're wasting peoples time! Give a price range and the features you want in a tractor. Then decide which ones you're interested in but don't take a month of days to decide. That just wastes more time. Dave

Let's just try not to answer each other's posts. You got your feelings hurt while you were complaining about your various jobs and are on a mission to get even regardless if what you say makes sense or not.

The original post was pretty simple. No whining or moaning, just that if I am plain in what I ask for (in this case what you have, location, and price per email) then reply accordingly or don't waste my (or your) time.

Do that and get an immediate reply from me of either no thanks or give me your address and an appointment to come see it.

BLUF: Bottom Line Up Front

How nice would it be to open up a paper or ad and see "80HP tractor $10,000"? You could decide in a glance if you wanted to read the rest of the or move on.

As soon as I put in a max price on the forums here, that's what everyone wanted, within a couple hundred bucks, for what they offered up. I set my max about 1k above the high prices on the only tractor ad site that I've found. Things will get weeded out and something will come up or not. As long as my existing tractor does the job, I'm not desperate and can wait on a reasonable Joe to come along.

Dave

Today's Featured Article - Chores - by Frank Young. The ceaseless passing of time! It is at once our friend and our enemy. It measures our progress and it makes us old. Like most features of our life, few things are all good or all bad, and most such judgments depend on our own perspective or viewpoint. In our particular hobby, we enjoy the nostalgic return to the days of our youth as we recreate many of the scenes that took place on the family farm that served as the stage for the first few acts of the play that is our live ...
