I'm going to look at case 580c that has sat for 5-8 years. If I could get it started it would make loading it on trailer easiier.
I don't know anything about diesels. I presume this uses 2 6 volt batteries. For something that has sat this long should I go with 1 twelve volt and jumper cables to jump the engine from my truck or should I bring 2 6 volts. (I suppose the answer is bring as many batteries as I can!)
I presume I should drain the diesel and add new (I've read diesel doesn't go bad like gas but it can get algae. Also I suppose the condensation will have turned the fuel in the tank into 1/2 water. I'm guessing I'll be able to figure out how to drain the fuel from the main tank but I'm afraid of introducing air into the injector system. Are there water and fuel drain petcocks as part of the fuel filters (like on my 7.3 Ford Diesel)?
For whatever reason the owner indicated his kids drained the oil out of the engine, presumable several years after it last ran. I have NO idea why.
The hoe has been removed from the tractor and is off to the side. Again I have no idea why. Are the hoses to the Hoe quick connects or do you suspect the hydraulics will be open.
What am I missing (besides this being a longshot on even being worth acquiring) . Any tips appreciated! Thanks.

But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked
