I certainly do not think it is worth the bother to switch it to propane or NG. We have a small generator that we use occasionally, (once or twice a year) and we don't have a problem. A Honda would probably start and run fine on year old gas if it wasn't left in the carb. I install shut off valves on most of our small engines and run the carburetors empty when we are done using them for the last time. It also depends on where you live, if you live in a very hot climate gas will not keep as well, we don't have that problem in MN!
