I've always liked the looks of the Allis B model. Unfortunately, I'm a 300#+ geezer and haven't figured out a way to get on and off one. I was looking at Marketplace this morning and spotted a quite strange looking one. It looks like someone has put what looks like am industrial B front end on the tractor and added some steps which might enable someone like me to climb on.

Does anyone have any comments on the modifications that have been made? Do they look beefy enough to hold up?

Since I have never figured out a way to climb onto a B, I have no idea whether there would be enough room to actually use one. Does anyone have opinions on whether a B can be comfortably operated by a six foot tall, 300# geezer with size 15 shoes?

Looks like a home made weight bracket to me. There are a few step options out there and if you are handy you can make your own. I'm roughly the same size as you and get along good with my boys C. I made him a set of steps for Christmas one year.

You should look into an ib tractor. They are low to the ground and easy to get on and off from the rear. Otherwise, they are the same as a B.

Looks like a "C"....note the wide rear wheel tread width.

But.....that step should work on a "B" as well.

yep, late model B with add ons.

With the tall seat back, your step up, put your left foot just behind the clutch, hold on to the wheel, and swing your right leg over to the brakes, setting down on the way by.
The optional pan set I always stepped on from the rear, but a 3 point would b ein the way.

Once on, you'll find that your knees stick up because the seating is low for a big man. but my 6'6 300 lb father and his 14EEE's used to drive one so very do-able.

personally, if I didn't have emotional attachments to mine (my first and my dad's last) I would sell them. Too fast gearing for most of what I do, no PS, and my knee doesn't appreciate the swing on. But very handy little cultivator or snow plow tractors.
