WD starter/generator correct colors

Getting ready to repaint my WD. The starter, generator, and the headlights are black, is that because they have been replaced at some point or did they come that way from the factory?
I want to it to be correct the way it came new. Any help would be appreciated.
 
its all one color from factory. dont matter what brand of tractor. but cant say that about the lights.

I would say the reality is that WC's and early WD's were all orange. I know my Dad's 53 WD and and our 55 WD45 were black gen and headlites for sure. They look nicer with black starters, gen and headlites. Just like the decals on the hoods....early WD's were blue letters with big "A" and "S" and sometime in ? late 1951 (I think) they went to the black letters all the same size. Early WD's never had a "WD" decal either. Not until the black letters was there ever a "WD" decal on the side of the radiator. This coincides with the black letter hood decals as the WD decal is black letters.
 


There are a few AC factory tour dealer promotional videos on YouTube.

They showed the guy painting everything orange and then assembling wheels and lights etc and lights were black.

Poke through the J and L channel, they transferred many old videos, you'll see how everything was.

You'll see how everything was on that day. Like I said, WC's and WD's got painted differently than WD45's did. So, it depnds on what they were painting and even the 52/53 WD's were more like a WD45.
