K160 update

After searching everywhere for double disc openers for my k160 row units I was finally able to find something that works.

Long story short 12-12.5 discs are downright impossible to find as theyre not made anymore especially by Case. However I did fine some but had to do the ultimate sin and buy jd 71 row unit discs as they are the only blades small enough I could find anywhere and that could bolt up. Atleast where it is stamped jd is only on the inside of the blades..

Now for my next task of finding the shaft gear bed bearings. Part #17 shown in the pic. Anyone have any leads? Of my 7 row units only 1 has these bearings that are loose. Ill need new ones eventually to do the other units so figured Id find them now rather than later. Parts guy at JD said hed never seen bearings like these so small. Thanks for any help!

You might as well have posted the shaft size for which you are looking for bearings.

The link below is to 7/8'' shaft size bearings, and MAY give you and idea of the terminology used if you need another size ''Light Duty Flange Bearing, 3 Bolts, Setscrew Lock, Non-Relubricatable''.

That should be a regular 7/8 sealed bearing. You can use either the set screw lock like in the picture or regular cam lock bearings. But measure the shaft to be sure on size. But anywhere that sells bearings should be able to get them. Case does like the odd size like 7/8 rather than 1 like jd and most others.

I have got them at the local bearing house in Watertown SD. Haven't bought any in awhile, but are also used on the fertilizer drives on Kirschmann drills. Cartney Bearing Watertown SD.

Thanks for finding that for me! Theyre pretty proud of those
bearings might have to see if I can find them else where. I
thought I measured 3/4 on the shaft but I may have to
double check that.

Do you happen to know what the part number was through them? I stand corrected they do need to be for a 7/8 shaft.
