Trouble splitting Case LA

I'm a novice when it comes to antique tractors and am attempting to split a 1949 LA. Crankshaft appears to be stuck in the clutch. I'm pretty confident it's not just binding. I've soaked it down with penetrating oil. Is it just a waiting game now or are there other things I should be considering?

never heard of a crankshaft being stuck in the clutch. no idea on what you have done so far as u didnt say what u all have done. that clutch
runs in engine oil also. what are u soaking in penetrating oil??? need some better explaining here.

Have you released the fork the throw out bearing rides on? Think you need to release the rod from the clutch lever to let the fork tip
forward as the engine moves forward. Been awhile since I worked on one.

I split a 500 which is basically a LA with a diesel engine. I don't recall any problems getting it apart. I actually had to split it in three because I had to replace the crankshaft.

I sat down with my service manual again and realized I definitely missed this step. Only movement I was getting was when I engaged and disengaged the clutch. Makes sense now that I think about it.
