Spark Plugs Gap

My 1956 Racine 400-round nose is in need of new spark plugs. The tractor has been converted to 12V. The tractor is also equipped with a Pertronix electronic ignition conversion with the coil. On recommendation, I am going with Autolite 3116s. My question is about the spark plug gap. The owner's manual says .025 gap. Pertonix recommends that the gap be increased to a maximum of .007 over the factory specification. Autolite says the 3116 plugs should be gapped at .025.
What are your thoughts? Is it really an exact science? Compromise at .030?
Thank you!

electrode gaps are wider with electronic ignition due to hotter spark, plus they use carbon core wires instead of wire core. also is a hotter spark . you probably are good at .030 . most gm vehicles used .044 up to .060 gap. in the eighty's oldsmobile used .080 gap. thing is u want the plug tab parallel to the electrode. maybe there is a plug out there for electronic ignition i dont know.
