I have a Cat R2 that has been sitting for 40+ years inside a shed..It has some wear..Otherwise in not to bad shape..Just wondering if it is worth restoring or if it should go for scrap?

Doubtful you will get much out of it although it would be unique and pretty neat. If Im not mistaken thats a spark ignition or gas and tractor fuel version of a d2? Late 30s. If it has a pto would be pretty cool. To the right person worth something more than scrap I bet.

If it runs and moves, its worth saving. If either of the engines wont turn over or it wont move under its own power you'll put far more money into it than its worth.

here is a group of Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Clubs with chapters all across America, so please don't just scrap it .. whether you decide to fix it or sell it, they will be of great help in helping you decide what to do with it, contact the club nearest you at the following..
