Ford 555A - power steering help

With this machine I picked up, the guy I bought it off of said that power steering pump needs to occasionally be refilled. He said that it will be a bit foamy in the reservoir as well. I know the cylinder leaks and I'll rebuild it and I'll also rebuild the pump but my question pertains to fluid flowing back into the engine. I had read in another thread that this is a known issue. I'm fairly certain that's what's happening because it's overfull on the dipstick and there isn't any water in the oil. Will the power steering pump rebuild kit fix this issue or are there other parts that need to be replaced/rebuilt? I've ordered a service manual and look forward to tackling this but just want to ensure the problem is fixed.

Thanks is advance for the help.

My experience has been that the pumps are not worth rebuilding. The aluminum pump housing wears more than any other part in the pump. I would recommend
you at least take it apart and inspect it before ordering any rebuild parts as it is very likely you will need a new pump.

Thanks Mark. I will do that. Is the wear you've seen the cause for the fluid to leak back into the engine?
