Broken axle shaft support.

I have a JD 2010 (yellow) backhoe. I was loading up some dirt in the bucket when the left front wheel went sideways.

What happened is the shaft that ties the axle to the body lost its grub screw and moved backward. It came all the way out of the front support, and the unbalanced load broke the rear support.

Has anybody had success welding on something like this (cast iron)? Sure doesn't look pretty. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It can be welded, it is a slow process. Last time I welded cast I used a Certanium product, don’t remember the number but my welding sales called it "missile weld". They were expensive but save an Engine block.
