1965 A/C HD7G Aspirator

Today's dilemma!
In my parts book the Allis part number is 634092.
The center is completely rusted out of mine, I can copy it, but need some information/pictures/diagram regarding the center, if I have to go that way.
1. Does anyone make an aftermarket aspirator to fit this tractor?
2. How high does the center pipe extend inside the aspirator?
3. Last but not least, what does this do?
4. Can it hurt the engine if operated without it?
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I speak with my expert friend on ALLIS CHALMERS
about aspirator and he told you better use a straight pipe and should be 2 feet hood outside

I have to plead ignorance. What is the "aspirator." Air intake pipe, pre-cleaner, or what?

MY HD6 has a simple pre-cleaner on the air-intake.

My AC book does not call any of the air-inake parts an "aspirator" for my HD4 or HD6. Just a "precleaner" and a "cleaner."

But both my AC crawler have four-stroke-cycle diesels, and you've got a two-stroke-cycle Detroit Diesel - so maybe your parts descriptions are different.

I have to plead ignorance too, as I don't know for sure what it does.
It sits on top of the turbo where the exhaust comes out.
What I am guessing is that it pushes/pulls clean air up the stack to cut down on the smoke!
I have my parts guy still looking for this part.
Thanks Hector, I will do this until I get the aspirator bought or built.

Again, thanks all

are you talking about a pipe between the exhaust and the pre cleaner stack like on a AC 7000? series...sposed to keep pre cleaner from plugging with dust on the tractors...i've never seen one on a AC crawler but that dont mean they didnt have em.

I am not sure what that pipe you are describing is, as I have not been near any A/C farm tractors.
The aspirator has a stainless tag welded on it that states it is an aspirator and is also called that in the parts manual too; beyond that, I am still in the dark.
Thanks

Brian, an aspirator assembley uses a Cyclone Tube precleaner to centrifically seperate the sand from the intake air. The sand falls to the bottom as the clean air goes to the engine intake. The Aspirator is mounted inside of a venturi in the exhaust stack and has a tube back to the cyclone tube precleaner. The exhaust flow up the stack through the venturi causes a low pressure/vacume on the tube that draws the dirt out of the cyclone tube precleaner and blows it up the stack. To check if one is working right, hold your hand over the precleaner end of the tube while running the engine at full throttle. If it's working right it should pull like a vacume cleaner. Many venturi's are three tear drop pieces welded into the stack. The nozzel needs to be up into them not above or below them. If the nozzel isn't positioned right hot exh gases will blow back and melt the cyclone tubes.

Thanks for the information.
I'll post back later when I have repaired/replaced and let you know how I've made out.

I found an aspirator, it is made by Donaldson (they call it an ejector).
My heavy truck specialist found it for me.
Thanks everyone, including BCnT and prairie boy!
