Cub freeze and burst issues

Cracked head.... water jacket and of course, the bolster for the radiator mount. I can get this cub for a song, but maybe it's too much problem. I intend to use it lightly around the property. It runs, just cracked.

The head can be replaced easily enough. I know JB weld will work for a while.

This Cub is a 1960. what later years are compatible? I see a 1977 head available...will that work?

What about welding the front bolster...very thin horizontal crack.

I have welded cast sections before..welded a B275 tranny that broke in half.

If I choose to weld the bolster, what rod and technique is best? Do I use pure nickel or alloy? Small sections? Peening? Pre-post heat?

If that puppy has frost bite the block inside may also be broken BTDT . As i had the same GOOFY idea of turning one into another Super Cub , I had nothing to work with and like that one your looking at from the bell housing forward it needed EVERYTHING . And for the price of pieces and parts ya can buy two that run.

'47-79...... 99 percent the same.
Most cubs have been welded in the
places you mentioned. I wouldn't
hesitate to buy it..... It would
be the 46th cub we have bought!
Lol.

Depression correction!

Torque down head bolts that are outside of the crack only to start with 5 foot pounds more . That will close the crack tight . Never leak
again
Dont put goo into crack if you did clean it out ,you want the fracture s to close up into the orginal fracture to seal metal to metal
