[Good afternoon, all. I have amu FILs gas W9 with a TSX 785 carb. The threads look a bit messed up where the power adjust needle threads into the top cover of the carburetor, and I am having a bit of a time finding the correct thread size and pitch to clean them up. Does anyone know what they should be? Thanks![/i]

By not giving up the complete identity of your machine
some confusion has developed. You ALWAYS have to
remember that no one on this end of the forum has just
been standing standing next to the machine in
question. So it is always wise to give the best
description possible. By a reply to your post on the J.I.
Case topic section I am led to believe you have a Case
W9 wheel loader, see 1st link. Another thing that adds
to this confusion is that a McCormick-Deering W9
wheel tractor uses a carburetor built and designed by
IHC. The Marvel Schebler TSX 785 carb has a throttle
shaft that is oriented 90 degrees off from the
mounting holes to be able to even come close to
working on a Mc-Deering W9. I know someone chased
you over here to the IHC topic section but you were in
fact in the correct section to start with. The 2nd link
will take you to his post on the Case page. Sorry, I
cannot help you with you thread problem. It may be
that someone on the general Tractor Talk section can
help you.

i did figure that out after. its just lack of info sure causes grief. just like people calling international's farmall's. its two different tractors. and i have also had people call ihc tractors cases. so its not really our fault to send you a reply back to specify what u actually have. hope u find your part.

It is unclear whether you are describing the threads
of the needle or the casting. If one or the other is
intact, take it to the hardware store and see if it is
machine screw pitch. If nothing fits, or both pieces
are mangled, order a carb kit with a new needle and
get the thread pitch from that (get a thread gauge)
and order a special tap from a machine tool
supplier to rethread the casting.
