Pushing rear axle from Ford 600/601 Workmaster

I am posting a picture of the business end of a fixture I made with scraps from around the shop that I used with a 12 ton press that comes from HF or NT. The 12 ton press had enough power but was very close to its limit for length capacity to hold the axle and fixture. Several things could be done to increase the holding capacity an inch or two but I didn't need it. If you use a close fitting round pipe as I did don't forget to use your oscillating spindle sander to remove the seam inside the pipe that might scratch the machined surface of your axle. I used the axle shims to locate the hole pattern and drilled the holes over sized to make sure the fixture fit well after welding.

The other end is how ever you want to hold the fixture in your press. many people weld crossmembers which lay on the top of the press. I drilled the pipe 1/4 20 in 4 places around the top of the fixture. 4 one inch bolts and a collar ring held the fixture above the press. I can take a pic of that also when I get back to Vector Space.
