Removing throttle rod from dexta

Hi all,
Just wondering how easy it is to remove the throttle rod? The one that runs down the steering shaft.

I have sent lube down it. Just wondering does it pull upwards at all or have a pin in it?

Thank you

Martin

Not sure on the Dexta, but; On most Ford/Fordsons, the the lower end of the throttle control, where it connects to the horizontal linkage,
is a clamp bolt that goes through a notch in the vertical shaft. On the bottom end of the vertical shaft, should be a self locker nut, a
spring, and friction washer, that you remove, and just lift the throttle lever out. You might have the wedge the clamp open slightly. Keep
track of the sequence that the spring, and washers come out.

Hi, thank you for this.

It is the vertical bar where it goes into the slot at the bottom.
I will have another look but can t see a bolt or pin in it.

SWARV;

I located the parts diagrams for the Dexta, and they are different than the Power and Super Majors, as well as the 1000 series. Here is a
link to the parts diagrams, the throttle linkages are from page 109-115, maybe they will help. http://www.lutje-ford.nl/wp-

If you are trying to get the throttle rod out that goes from the dash panel to the link under
the tank you have a big job on your hands. The rod comes out from the bottom as the angle
plate for the linkage is part of the rod. So it is a case of taking the tank off and the
steering box to get it out.

Not a brilliant scan as the parts book does not fit my scanner but you can see the problem. Do not worry about the 'Petrol' as they are all the same.

Hi both,

Thank you for this. Ok, didn t realise the bent bit is part of it.

The only reason for taking it off is the top is snapped off where it connects to the throttle lever.

Thanks for stepping in Majorman; Dextas are as rare as the proverbial Hens Teeth around here. I think we had two trade ins come through the lot when I worked at the tractor shop.
