Does this 3 cylinder diesel tractor have more than one glow plug? No wiring or working instrument panel on tractor when I got it. How do I wire the glow plug to heater button?

Its not a glow plug. Its a heater in the intake manifold. Mine is wired to a button on the bottom right of the instrument panel. You push it in for 30
seconds or so, then crank the engine. You shouldnt need it unless its less than 40 degrees F. It helps some, but its not as good as real glow plugs.

It is not a glow plug as such and it should be connected to a pipe that runs from the pump in
the fuel tap. The correct starting procedure is heat for 40 seconds then hit the prime pump in
the fuel tap. This causes a small amount of fuel to hit the red hot element in the plug and
start a fire in the intake manifold. When you then hit the starter the flame is drawn into the
cylinders and fires the diesel being injected.

Just using the heater, on its own does very little good.

Some Dexta and Super Dexta tractors always need heat to start, others will fire right up. They
were like that new. Later tractors with a Minimec pump have an excess fuel button on the stop
lever, on the injection pump. This is also a great help and can reduce the need to heat.
