Went to get my JD 318 our of winter storage today and wouldn't crank over. Battery tests OK. Not even a click on the starter. Also found a large mouse nest under the air breather so I'm guessing something has been chewed in half. When I turn the key the oil pressure light lights but the battery light on the dash doesn't. Can someone tell me how that light comes on and goes out when working properly as it should give me a clue where to start looking. I don't have a wiring diagram for the tractor. I had to put a new switch on it last year as one of the posts had rusted off. It was a cheap switch off of ebay. Any chance the switch is a problem again. These little tractors are hard to get hands into to work on so I'm hoping to minimize what has to come off for trouble shooting.
