Anyone uses a JD drive-over to install mower deck model?

May have to replace the mower I am using with something else one of these days. Otherwise might have to have the JD boys come out and do the snowblower/mower swaps. Leo

Good afternoon, IaLeo: What model Deere and what model deck, or at least tell us the size of deck. I have a Deere model 212 and after I disconnect everything, I can just pull the deck out by hand out one side, it slides across my garage floor ok. (I don't recall if I needed to jack up the tractor last time; it has been a while!)

Buy another, similar tractor and leave the snowblower on it.

Handier than a pocket on a shirt!

I think you are right, Wore Out...probably a lot cheaper to find some used tractor and leave the snowblower on it year 'round! Leo

No need to jack up the tractor.
Disconnecting everything can be tricky the first few times you do it.
I agree with the poster who suggested buying another similar tractor.
In the JD 200 series it is not too costly.

I am famiar with taking the deck on and off. I had 3 30 year old used ones that I dumbly bought to have a hoot with my triplet town grandchildren! Then it got complicated, always repairing, deciding their safety on these old machines wasn't worth the risk.

Been using an X534 all wheel steer for several years, but my fingers are getting stiffer and number...well the JD ads make it look like a Sunday picnic on some of their models...just putt-putt over the deck, check to see if your coffee is still warm and you have your phone....I don't trust that.

So I will still bang up my fingers, poke a bleeder in my are (or two)and live with what I've got..a 60" deck, stuck anti-scalping wheels that need oil, WD40 and a big pliers, a small wrench, a 4 foot 2 x 4 pry to lift the deck just a mite to get some darn pin in.

Then a nearby chair to rest upon, a bottle of water....and time to remember when this all was sooooo easy! Leo

If you are thinking about a change, maybe get outside the box a bit and keep your eye out for one of these. I got the tractor and 6' mower from a municipal auction for $1,300 and have had very few issues (plugged screens on the suction lines in both tanks) with it in 3 years. I adapted a Kubota front plow for a BX series to it for snow. Getting a snowblower for it and changing over would be a piece of cake. I can put the mower on and off in minutes. I went with the plow because I already had a blower for my F 2000 Kubota. BTW; I have 2 mid deck tractors, an at 70, find it much easier to change over the front decks.
