I noticed one of my tires on the gauge wheel is about to break in two on my 7000 planter 4 row wide, so i went on jdparts and was going to get the part number but they show 2 different ones, one said it was for the runner opener and the other is for the Tru-Vee opener. I have no clue which one i would need, does anyone know what the difference is?? Are the tires hard to change??

The part numbers are: Runner Opener - C1231N Tru-Vee - A84050

Very rare to see a runner planter up here, much less a 7000.

But, dont know what you have.

The rubber can be kind of tough to get fit around the metal rim.

You can price the entire wheel assembly at Shoup, might save some time and bad words and the price might not be that much more at all. Get a new bearing in the bargain.

If you have 2 disks that run beside each other between the rubber wheels then you have the disc opener. If you have a single bar knife looking deal between them then you have the runner opener. didn't know they had runners on planters that new either, never have seen one either. Been double disc openers here for decades now.

I never had trouble installing a new tire. If for some reason that you do use a couple of threaded rods, a deep well socket and an impact wrench to get started. A couple of narrow long punches will help pilot the holes. Once all bolts have been started then bring them fully tight. I've never had to do it but you could spray a general lubricant such as silicone on the tire to start with. Far from a difficult job.

They are. They need to be unbolted to change the tire or bearing. I suppose there could be some confusion on that by the OP.
