Danuser PTO Driveshaft Stuck

Found a nice local digger for a nice price
but telescoping shaft is stuck. I've
begun the heat cycles, PB Blaster, and
hammer taps on end of male half (exposed
one I pulled the implement-end joint).

If this doesn't loosen up what is the
smart move? Re-tube my yokes? Chuck it
all and buy a new shaft? Pretty sure the
gearbox input shaft is same spline as the
tractor end, 6-spline.

Quit pounding on the square inside all you will do is make it tighter in the square outside. Put the one end to a post then the other to a come along on a tractor or some other nonmovable fixture. Heat oil and pull. I use diesel fuel as it will saok in faster than most pray stuff. It will soak the rust loose also. after about a day of soaking heat and pull. IT should come apart. During the heating if you could push some oil or grease into the slip joint with a gun would help with lubrication.

Been hitting with a brass drift. May possibly have done some good, it's taking some PB Blaster rather than pooling up around it. Inner shaft could be stuck at both ends so big progress if I'm getting penetrating oil into one end, I think.

There is no zirk fitting on this shaft, unfortunately.

The last one I did ,I chained one end to a tree and the other to the tractor. I put a little tension on it,smacked it with a hammer the next day, and it was in two pieces again. The Bush Hog and the post hole diggers shafts are kept in the shed now with tags, so someone will know what they fit at the sale.

I had one I had to use the propane weed burner torch on and it took quite a bit of heating and beating to get it apart and pulling with a big come along at the same time

Propane weed torches are not usually hot enough.A cutting torch with either acetylene or propane will heat it hot enough to get it red. If you could heat the whole length of it red then drop in a tank of water right after it would come apart. I've seen and done that on bearings along with other things. big problem is a tank or vat big enough to submerse it. A hose is not good enough. It has to submerse.

Had to press one apart before to
