4020 Oil Pan - Flywheel Housing Material Identification

Removed oil pan on 4020 today. Lots of what I am assuming is clutch material on the backside of it.

In between where the flywheel housing mates with the front frame there is some white fiberglass/cotton matting material jammed up in that space. It is only on the left side.

Does anyone know that that might be?

It is pretty tight in there so I have not tried to clean it out yet. Couldn't find a depiction of it in the parts manual.

Thanks.

Yes ... mice are always possible.

The material looks like asbestos/fiberglass so I thought maybe it came from above and had a legitimate purpose. I will see if I can get it cleaned out of there with a putty knife.

That material sound foreign?

Might be a good idea to check the condition of the PTO clutch linkage boot and confirm that the clutch inspection cover is fitting properly. Rodents could find their way in at those points.
