I have a John Deere G it has 045 all-Fuel pistons wanting to change to Gas have Deere Gas manifold and Flat head from unstyled I also have Deere Gas pistons would they be to much compression ? want to run 90 octain non ethenol Gas, thanks John.

I don't know the compression height of a Deere gas piston, but a M&W type piston, F550R block and a flat head is about 10.5:1 and will not work on 90 octane.

Cam needs to be ground to match both the compression ratio and rpm .
Needs to be done anyways as it is a -00% sure thing that cam and followers are worn .
You are looking at using 100LL from the local airport .

Have the cam reground for sure. There are calculations out there for figuring the compression ratio's. You will need to cc the top of the piston in the cylinder to get an accurate reading. If you are using a flat head, you might need to add some reinforcement in the water jacket by the bolt holes. It gets pretty thin there and the heads tend to crack there especially if you go to high compression.
