Battery cable part number

Does anyone have numbers or are there numbers for a
12 volt system on two 12 volt batteries cables from
each battery to the starter? With my limited ability
with the online parts book I only find a 12 volt system
with two 6 volt batteries? 4020 diesel

JD 4020 never came from factory with two 12 volt batteries attached in parallel only in series to give 24 volts. My 4255 came with two 12 volt batteries attached in parallel but I doubt the cable lengths would be correct for a 4020 but that would depend where 4020 battery boxes are located on your 4020. Have you considered measuring cable length & have battery cables custom made?

Yes it actually has a custom made one on it now a 2 00
on one side and a cheap factory made 2 gauge
probably anyway its time for them to be replaced . Im
not a super big fan of the ones I can buy locally are
crimped They do ok I guess . I have made my own with
soldered on ends used to be the local implement
dealer used to press the ends on with the hydraulic
hose machine those I liked . My batteries are in the
stock location.

I have a local shop that makes battery cables and they use welder cable. It is nice to work with as it is flexible. I also like soldered ends and then add some nice shrink wrap. Tom

Measure the length of cables needed and order what you need in the John Deere section of the Brillman Co. catalog.

If you do not have a local battery shop find a local truck (tandem, semi, etc) repair shop. They often make their own cables with the soldered terminals and quality cable.

On my 4020 I run the two positive cables to a remote starter relay. Then I jump the relay at the starter. This avoids issues caused by the starter relay not getting enough current. It's an old drag racer trick.

That's what I make cables with. Welding cable works great and if there's a local auto electric shop, they should have cable ends that fit the welding cable (fill with melted solder) along with red and black shrink wrap to identify positive and negative ends.
