Ferguson 40 bevel pinion

Hello everyone, I have been been trying to find a bevel pinion shaft for a Ferguson 40 tractor. This isn't the industrial tractor, but the red and cream row crop type tractor. The pinion I have had a pin run through it, and while the ring gear is good, the pinion is toast. I know these tractors aren't extremely common, and I don't usually work on many MF or Ferguson tractors. Would anyone have the part number for a 40 pinion, a source for someone that might have a used one, or another tractor that uses the same one? I'd heard that those tractors were very close to a MF 50, but I don't know how close they actually are. Thank you for any help you can give

I have been told by a MF parts man that the F40 and the MF50 and MH50 are all the same except for sheet metal.

makes no sense, how can something run through the crown & pinion and and only screw up the pinion. unless we dont have all info. and also u cant buy only one gear, they are sold as a matched set. and always replaced that way. than they have to be set up correctly.

Since the Ferguson F40 is the same tractor as the MH50, and MF50, the MH50, and MF50 show to use the same gearset part number 182115M91. The MF35 from 1960-65 also shows to use the 182115M91 gearset from what I've seen in the parts books so it looks like it will be easier to find a set.

I also found this after doing alittle more looking.

I believe the MF50 or F40 are the same except for sheet metal. Some MF35 also use the same rear end. I used a rear end from a MF50 on a MF35. Neither had a locking differential.

Well the ring gear on these is very solid, the teeth on the pinion, not so much. The ring gear is perfectly fine, the leading edge of the pinion shaft teeth are chipped off on one tooth. I know they have to be a matched set, but I bought a set out of what was supposed to be a 50, and the pinion shaft is too long, so I was trying to figure out what the deal was. Now I see in the part numbers above, a notification of short pinion, well that must be what I have, because the set I bought supposedly from a 50 is too long, and I don't want to buy another wrong set
