Massey 35 Trans weep hole

Tractor experts I need a little help. I didn t realize the massey had a weep hole under the trans. I was replacing trans oil and noticed a drip. Stupid me decided to try to plug it with Allen key plugs. I took a small plug and put in the hole. Not sure how this happened the plug went up and off the Allen key. It didn t come back out with the oil that was dripping out. Question is will this harm the trans gears? Or will it eventually fall back out. Experts please let me know.

That hole goes into the clutch housing, NOT the transmission. Did you notice the plate on the bottom of the clutch housing that is held on by 4 large bolts? Take that plate off and you may be able to fish the plug out. The drain hole should have a loose cotter pin in it. The cotter pin will wiggle around and keep the hole from getting plugged with dirt.

.

If oil is weeping out, determine if trans or engine -- the oils are different, 30w in engine and 80w90 in trans.

Depending means which source needs a seal replaced.

Thank you for the info. I see the plate with the bolts. I will tackle it over the weekend. Jvin, it was the new 80/90 oil coming out that I just put in the tractor. I must have over filled it by a little.

Are you aware that there is a dipstick for the transmission/rear end in the round cover by your right heel as you sit on the tractor. I have recently changed the seals for the transmission input shafts on a 35.
