Mf 135 hydraulic filter pulled apart

I was going to replace the hydraulic filter in my 135 today and when I pulled the old filter the bottom 2/3s of the filter was completely missing. When I looked inside there was some of the filters wire mesh wrapped around the shaft next to the filter. The filter was in place properly and the wire tie was holding the filter in so it s not like it was loose at all. Not sure how this happened and I assume I need to pull everything apart now to check for the debris from the filters mesh. I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what 5he outcome was. I hope it didn t screw up the pump but I have a feeling it probably did as the filter wasn t doing anything so all sorts of debris and sludge was probably getting circulated through the pump.

It may have experienced frozen ice. Water drained out with oil? Be sure to replace shifters and top draft link boots. They are not just there for pretty trim but protect the trans,hydraulic,pto systems.
