MF165 3 point hydraulic operation question

Hello All, I purchased a MF165 with the Perkins last year to do some tilling and mowing around our little farm. I think the SN lookup says its about a 1973 model. 3,000 hours, purchased from original owners son. The original owner had all original paperwork and documentation and filed all of the maintenance records since the beginning, i was impressed. Anyway, I have always had letter series Farmall and some smaller (less than 60hp) International tractors, so not familiar with the hydraulics on the MF165. This one has a hydraulic setup that is a little different than the MF165 owners manual and wanted to see if anyone is familiar with the same setup. It has the typical DRAFT lever on far right side control, it has the typical three point lever just inside of that, with the constant, transport, up/down. Then under the seat it has three hydraulic valves, sitting on tractor right is for rear remote, center for front remote (neither have locks on them) and left operates the three point and has a lock if you actuate it all the way forward and move the lever a little to the right. so the left lever under the seat works well to operate the three point, but i cant get the side 3 point lever to move it up or down. so for the tiller and 3 point mower, just used the one under the seat last year and left the draft and 3 point levers all the way back (up/constant). Is there something i am doing wrong with all of this or do you think the linkage or cam in the linkage is not working? i dont want to start opening it up if it's just operator error. BTW, i done use any ground engagement implements, so i haven't used DRAFT or plan to. but would like to use the side 3 point lever if possible, the one under the seat is a little cumbersome.
Thank you in advance for input. Craig

The LEFT auxiliary valve lever should be locked BACK and left there for the three point position and draft levers to work. The LEFT lever is to be in the CENTER and the position lever placed in CONSTANT PUMPING for the center and right auxiliary levers use. DO NOT use constant pumping at any other time or pump damage may be done.

Thank you, that's what i am looking for.
I have the tractor stored for winter (Wisconsin) in my polebarn and will take a look tonight. i was thinking the LEFT auxiliary valve lever only locked in the FORWARD motion, but i am probably confused. i know when i locked it, it was running the pump hard, so that was probably a result of the 3 point lever being in CONSTANT, so i didnt do that. otherwise, i put the 3 point lever (the one closest to the seat, the POSITION lever) in constant when i run the right and center auxiliary valve levers for the loader or rear remote. I knew you couldn't have the 3 point lever in constant AND the left auxiliary lever locked at the same time. I will check it our and respond
