M670 Super backrest

Has anyone used one of the wood backed armrests for the M670 Supers? If so, are you satisfied with it? Seems the metal backed ones are about $150 to $200 more. Not going on a restored tractor, just a baling and general farm work tractor.

If you never let it get wet it might be OK. I had one a few years ago and my tractors set out some and it did not hold up. I gave up on the wood bottom cushions for the same reason. Steel is higher but is the only way to go in my opinion.

This one has a wood bottom one that rotted out on the front from being tipped to let the rain run off. I had bought a metal replacement for it. I agree, the metal ones are better. Im planning on installing a cab which will help.

You might be OK with those vertical braces being spaced out like they are. I put a wood backed one on an Oliver once. They only attach in the back in the center and don't have any braces like that. That one lasted about until I sat down too hard.
