77 Price reduction

Isn't this the same 77 that somebody posted a few months back? Pretty sure it's the same one that I reluctantly picked apart because they had such a ridiculously high price on it for as many things as weren't correct. I'm thinking the price was around $6800 then. Somebody must have had a talk with them, they've come down about $3000. It looks a little better at the new price.

No hydraulics. And if the serial tag is actual, it is a 1951 model, not 1952. No pictures of the brakes, so it may have drums and not discs.

IMHO, still kind of pricey.

Ya, still way more than I'd give. I can't even figure out where they have that serial tag located, but it can't be in the right place. It's on with self tapping screws. It looks like it's where the shift plate should be. Looks like the throttle linkage rod right next to it.

I looked at more pictures. The tag is down where it would be on one with disc brakes. There's a rod in the hole where the starter rod would be on a diesel. I'm confused. I never saw a belt pulley rod located down there. Is that what it could be? There's no hole in the dash.

I've never seen that type of screws holding the serial number plate on , from the factory.

Randy take a look at the last picture.

I can't see the third digit on my huge display, but I see 34?863 in the photo, not 345903 as they wrote. Their 0 sure looks like a 6 to me, but what do I know. However, the fact they used those screws after going to all that trouble to clean it up sure makes me want to vomit.

Ya Jack, I saw that while Claud was typing. They must have moved the belt pulley rod when they went to disc brakes.
Funny how I lived all these years and never noticed that. Life wouldn't be much fun if you knew it all and never
learned anything new.

I had an 88 with disc brakes, but no pulley. I've got that 66 now with disc brakes and no pulley on that one
either. Up until 5 minutes ago, if anybody had asked, I'd have said there was a hole in the dash for the rod, but I
just got done grinding feed and when I parked the grinder I looked. No hole.

I know I'm a little off but if I paid that much for a tractor I would want the tires to match among other things. Paint looks a little dark too. Im partial to original tractors.

You and me both. I was thinking after I saw it that I'd way sooner pay that for a nice complete barn find original
than I would for that one. It was somebody's baby though and has some sentimental value I suppose.

My 1952 88 Diesel has the belt pulley shifter as in the picture. It also has disc brakes. Not exactly like Supers; it is the conversion, with the bull pinion extensions.
