Does anyone have a perkins 354.1 for 2-85

Looking for a 354.1 perkins for my 2-85. I have a 354.4 but after installing in tractors there's to many things that don't make it easy. Throttle linkage, water pump, manifolds, that's just what I see for now. Thanks Steve

If it's like putting a combine engine in an 1850, the list you made is the tip of the iceberg. Not saying it's hard to do, but you pretty much have to strip a combine engine down to the block and head then put literally all of the tractor engine parts on it. The only way around it is to use an engine out of a tractor. If you don't have to change the oil pump and plumbing, you're one step ahead of putting one in an 1850.

RR Lund is correct. It would probably be easier to do a Cummins conversion than address all of the changes needed to install a Dot 4 in place of a Dot1. You definitely should use a tractor for all the parts you will need. Good luck finding a good running Dot1 that is not already in a tractor and in use.

I'm probably just going to rebuild the block I have 354.1. Do you have any suggestions on which pistons ect to use? Like would I be better to use 105 pistons? Or just stay with the 2-85 pistons. The dot4 pistons won't work in the dot 1? Thanks
