I need a pump for occasional use.
Probably twice a week in the summer.
I don't have a lot of money to spend
and this one mite fit my budget.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95123
ITEM 95123-1VGA $169.99 and I have a 20% off coupon.
So with sales tax I could get it for about $150.

I hate to buy something with a HF engine on it
but it is within my price range and I need a pump.
If the engine gives out could I take the pump off
and convert the pump to a PTO powered pump?

What do y'all think about this.

Thanks.

With times as tough as they are just put an add in the paper to see what you could get used.

I bought a new 1.5HP 4 cycle water pump, Honda for $330 from Northern tool. It pumps 20gpm, Garden hose outlet with a 1" inlet.

have that pump and use it 2 times a week starts 2nd pull every time and pumps a lot of water for a 2.5 hp pump and for 150.00 what you got to loose mine is three years old and is a very good CHEEP pump. if it goes to hel- today i will get another one. have it in my pond to water the food plots and sweetcorn patch

If the motor goes bad would you be able to separate the motor from the pump?

I also am looking at a Delavan PTO pump, 20gpm @ 1000rpm.
But I would want to fab up a speed increaser for my PTO.
Not hard to do but I would have about the same money in it as the HF pump.
And it would tie up the tractor while in use.

Sure would be nice to have a gas powered pump.

Thanks.

I just got my third 2" pump from Princess Auto in the last 4 years, probably about the same quality as Harbour Freight. Use it for my sprayer tender as well as pumping all my liquid fertilizer, I think they would last pretty well if I wasn't putting about 15,000 gallons of UAN through them every year, the corrosion pretty much turns them into disposable pumps but for $199 I'll live.

Just a reminder. Every time you buy a throw away pump at Harbour freight, it means that you aren't buying a quality pump from somebody local.
I'm as cheap as the next guy but I cannot bring myself to spend good money knowing it is going out of country and profiting some importer and putting North Americans out of work.

I was also looking at a roller pump on ebay but got outbid on it.
So I went to Tractor supply and got a roller pump kit. $170. + tax.
It's a Hypro 8 roller pump. Should pump 11gpm off my PTO.
Should be perfect for my uses.
