Beam cutter

Ive been wanting one of these since seeing one at a buddys sawmill last fall. Kind of a wicked looking thing. He originally thought it could be taken on and off easily but that is not the case. I decided to dedicate a saw to it, Menards had this Skil worm drive on close out and I had a 25% coupon for the cutter so into it for about $250. Tried it on some red elm and it cut square and even. Oregon bar so I have a 14 that fits. Just what we needed for big beams.

Like I read somewhere, if you want one buy it before the lawsuit, when they get pulled off the market.

:)

Interesting deal, nice to hear it does work.

Why do you think they will get sued. Harbor freight is only coping the Prazi companies product. Prazi has been making them for years.

That was my first thought, Catguy! What can that do that I can't do with my dad's 50 year old Jonsered, and long as I have the chain sharpened correctly?

I saw that at Harbor Freight. I was curious how it would work. I figured it would kick every direction and be hard to control.

I have an old one, used it on a couple log cabins. People ask what is special about it? You can angle the saw to the degrees you want and make nice cuts on rafters ect besides square cuts. I also have a 16 inch skil ssw now.

Why would it kick any worse than any chainsaw? In fact it kicks LESS because you're steadying off the base of the circular saw.

I have a Prazi that's probably close to 50 years old.It works nice, and is head and shoulders over trying to freehand cut with a chain saw.For this last place I just built I bought a 16 inch Makita circular saw. That's even better.Walking 1/8 off using a plain chainsaw was not acceptable for inside joints in a log home. That's when I bought the used Prazi in the late 80's.
