Anyone have an opinion on a harbor freight Predator 8750 watt Inverter Generator with CO secure technology?
 
i have 5 Predators and everyone has a lot of hr. on them and have had o problems with them and they get beat around .and don't let anyone say you cant get parts if needed all kind of places just do a Google search and you will find what you would need i did switch 2 over to LPG .have 2 old 8750 watt 1 5000 watt 2 3500 watt super quiet all are out standing
 
No experience with that model but I ran a HF 6500 at my farm for a year, 24/7. It got hard to start at the end. I had the full warranty, so I took it back and got a new one. I have been looking at that model so will be interested if anybody has any experience with an inverter-based unit.
 
Engine parts should be available from many sources. What I would be concerned about is availability of inverter parts 6 or 7 years down the road.

You ran a portable generator non stop for over 8700 hours??
 
lets face it with the price of parts any parts and the cost of labor why would anyone fix a six or seven year old Gen when you can buy a new one for less ?. see that all the time with small engines and chainsaw they will spend 2 3 4 hundred when for 50 bucks you can buy new
 
I saw an awful lot of them in use in Arizona this winter on food trucks, and they all seem to be running just fine. If I was in the market for a new generator I would probably buy one.

If the generator is a Honda clone , Honda parts could possibly fit .
