I have bought them for my tractors several times in the past thirty years. Each time I have been told by the store manager that the battery may r may not work, but I could bring it back if it didn't. I have had one that I had to take back. The replacement worked. It was the only place in the area that had the big tractor batteries in stock.

TSC has gone back and forth between battery brands. TSC doesn't make the batteries, they come from Interstate or where ever. My TSC was recently getting rid of all the "Traveller" brand, which I think were made by Interstate and replacing them with Interstate branded batteries. When I asked the manager why, she said because people don't trust "Traveller" brand like they do Interstate or other brand name.

FWIW, all the Traveller brand batteries I bought worked just fine.

Interstate does not make batteries either. ALL batteries in the US are made by one of three manufacturers. That was
the last I knew. I'm sure that if I am wrong, somebody will correct me.

East Penn makes batteries for many brands. Their house brand is Deka. They also make Yuasa batteries.

Exide also makes batteries for many brands and sells some under their own name as well.

Johnson controls is the third manufacturer. As far as I know, they don't sell any under their own name.

Not sure of the status of Exide. The last I knew, they were having difficulties staying in business.

I have purchased two 4DLT for my 3000 and 2810 Fords, both batteries lost a cell just after warranty period. I switched to group 65 battery from Walmart, no problems so far and half the price.

I've done OK with the TSC batteries, mostly 6v. I can get around 10 years out of them. I used to get the TF17 for my 2000 there but last time they didn't have any and the costs saw were all north of $250. Put a 99 dolar job from WM in its place.

Many years ago I maintained several forklifts that used that type battery. They were a constant failure!

About 1 year was average, several I bought were bad on installation. Tried many different brands, buying from the dealer, nothing solved the problem, just had to live with it.

Things may have changed, but if there is any way to get away from that design, all the better!

I get 4 to 6 years out of the cheapie ones last set of strongbox batteries I had lasted 7 years that was before I converted everything to 12 volt systems those 24 volts would fry a battery post in a millisecond just pushing the starter button if clamps werent kept perfectly clean and tight at all times that what ruined the last set of Deere batterys I had

Go with the stud top 31's less hassle with cleaning cables and last well too. I 've been using them in everything from the H to the semi. they work well, last pretty well, and are available most places that sell batteries. I change the cable ends over and solder them on when I do.

That won't break my heart any. I will never have another one here. Never had another brand of battery that would vent fumes like them, and cause everything around them to rust.

exide appears to be doing fine. they might be good at digging holes, but they also seem to be pretty good at climbing back out of them.

I've been using Orscheln's batteries. My group 1 six volt is five years old. I have used their lawn and garden batteries since 2015 I get five years or better out of them.

In April of 2019 I bought a new Toro mower that battery went bad last July. Replaced it with an Orscheln's battery.

I never knew that they had a Yuasa plant in PA. They also make Yuasa lithium batteries in GA. That is a very good battery. Ive had good luck with them in my motorcycles and ATVs. They come standard in most sport bikes, which of course are made in Japan, the home base for Yuasa.

I was down at a Rual King about a month back and there battery prices was the lowest of what i have seen . NO who makes them i have no idea . The vary best batterys i have even had and go ahead a laugh were Mo par's . 12 years on the org battery in the 96 Dodge intrepid and 14 years on the 2003 Dodge Durango and when it died i replaced it with a Mopar and it is still going on the old beast it's group 27 in that one . TSC batterys ah well ah on the 3eh's maybe three years on the 3EE's again 3 years . As i set here i can not remember the brand i use to sell's name . This getting old thing sucks . I first came across them in dire need of three group 31 for my semi as i had one battery BLOW up while going down the road and a second on getting really hot I was close to home and beat feet for the house . Ran to the I H truck dealer and he was OUT of stock i needed three now as i had a load that had to go . Another guy told me to call this guy and i called him and he had new batteys for half what the dealer wanted , The truck had three Delco's that i really was not happy with as they did not have enough cranking power once the temps got down to freezing . Anyway this GUY even meet me half way saving me time and miles . Ran home stuff them batterys in cleaned up and jumped in the truck and pushed the big black button and never since day one did that Cummins ever crank so hard and FAST , i thought it was going to throw the engine out on the ground. A week later my buddy's semi had it's batterys do the same thing and we replaced them with what i put in and the guy we got them from made me a dealer . And for the life of me i can't remember who they were now . There group 31's were 1250 cold cranking amps and they would spin and old NTC small cam like nothing else . I ran the group 27's in my pick up and never ran out of juice with the snow plow like others on some lots with a lot of up down right left of the plow .

I need to give in and put group 31 batteries on these tractors i Just cant stand the look of a big ugly battery box bolted to the frame
