gonna drill soybeans on wheat stubbles with no till drill never done this hope to get a good stand, seem to have enough moisture, wanted to know if anyone has done this and if the yield was ok?? thanks rick

Around my area (southern wisconsin) no one uses a drill to plant beans unless it is the type of drill that basically has a finger pickup unit per row.

Either bale the straw from the combine or spread it real good. We plant at 3 degrees off from the drilled wheat rows with a JD no till air seeder. Your yield will all hinge on rain and sunshine. Ours has made from 15 to 30 over the years.

My worst crop on clean dirt was 18bu and the best was 56bu back to back yrs,but the worst crop was a dry yr and the best crop was plenty of rain, oh this is also dry land.

We have no-tilled beans behind wheat the last few years here. Anywhere from 15 to 30 bpa.

Keep in mind, that's here in Michigan, where we usually don't cut wheat until around the 4th of July. If our weather is right, it can make for a pretty good payout. (I think we'll see a lot of it here this summer, as some guys are still planting the "first crop" beans as we speak)
